Gigo Toys STEM Kit Grand Engineering Set 258 plastic pieces 8 years+

The Gigo Toys STEM Great Engineering Set invites children to discover the laws of physics through the use of vehicles, machines, and technical equipment. The set contains 258 pieces and allows for the creation of 22 functional models, including a dragster, a microscope, a submarine, and many others. Each model is built step-by-step and can then be tested to directly observe the physical principles that set it in motion.

The activities are organized into five chapters that experimentally explore different fields of physics and engineering design. In the water chapter, models such as a jet boat, a submarine, a catamaran, and a sailboat are built, where children study buoyancy and marine vehicles. In the land chapter, a dragster, tricycle, car brake, car suspension, and tower crane are designed to understand rotation, gears, and the center of gravity.

The air chapter brings models of a helicopter, glider, windmill, and falling leaf, which illustrate wind energy and energy conversion. In the engineering in society chapter, a forklift, top, hydraulic arm, scissor lift, and distance measuring instrument are assembled, introducing pneumatics, hydraulics, and statics. The optical devices chapter adds a camera stabilizer, a tripod, a selfie stick, and a smartphone microscope, which explore optics.

In addition to the models described in the instruction manual, children can design and build their own models, as the possibilities of this modular engineering system are practically limitless. The kit includes water tanks, a pneumatic tank and integrated air pump, pneumatic pistons, switching valves, tubes, structural beams, axles, gears, wheels, sheets, and much more. The parts are compatible with pieces from other Gigo construction sets, and a comprehensive manual guides construction with step-by-step illustrated instructions. The product is made of plastic and is manufactured in Taiwan by Genius Toy.
