Outset Game The Longest Cow 2-5 players 8 years+ paper, educational board card game
Outset The Longest Moo is a funny card game where you compete to build the longest and funniest cows by collecting heads, bodies, and tails. The longer the cow, the more points you get, and the person who gathers the largest herd wins. The game is perfect for game nights with family or friends and is played by 2-5 players.
The game was created by designer David Yakos, a two-time Toy Innovator of the Year award winner (2016 and 2020), celebrated for turning ingenious ideas into surprisingly delightful creations. His engineering background even includes developing technologies for NASA, which seems fitting for a game about cows jumping over the moon. The deck includes holy cows, robot cows, and even a Frankenstein Cow, which you can collect them all.
Be careful, because tornadoes and alien abductions can steal your prize cow at any moment. Three breeds of cows make up the majority of the deck: Longhorn, Holstein, and Highland. To play, you choose cow parts of the same breed from your hand and place them face up in front of you, forming your herd. Each cow must have at least one head and one tail to be complete, but you can make them as long as you like. At the same time, sabotage your opponents with attack cards to shrink their herds.
The game begins with the last person who saw a real cow and proceeds clockwise. When it's your turn, you start by drawing either two cards from the deck or any cow part from the discard pile, then you play as many cards from your hand as you wish. If you choose not to play any cards, pass your turn by saying "Your Mooove." At the end of your turn, you cannot have more than ten cards in your hand. You win bonus prizes for the first longest cow and the largest herd, and the player with the most points at the end of the game wins. The game develops attention, creativity, and logical thinking.
