The 20 mm size S SPECTRA breast shield set is designed for quick and efficient milk expression from both breasts or to have a spare breast shield on hand. The set does not contain a baby bottle, providing a solution for mothers who breastfeed and express breast milk.

The set is compatible with all Spectra electric breast pump models: Q, 9+, S2 Plus, S1 Plus, Dual Compact, and Dual S. In the package, you will find one breast shield, one tube, one valve, a backflow protection system that prevents milk from entering the motor, and a tubing adapter for the Dual Compact and Dual S pumps. The product is packaged in a blister pack.

The breast shield is made of PP (polypropylene) plastic that withstands up to 100°C; the backflow protection filter combines PP plastic and silicone (membrane) and withstands up to 100°C/120°C, and the silicone valve withstands up to 120°C. The tubing adapter for the Dual Compact and Dual S pumps is also made of PP plastic, resistant up to 100°C. The valve is a consumable part, and it is recommended to replace it every 3 months or sooner if it shows signs of wear.

To choose the correct size, measure the diameter of your nipple after a breastfeeding or pumping session and add 3-5 mm. A shield that is too small can cause friction, pressure, pain, or even injury, while a shield that is too large can pull the areola into the tubing, reducing milk expression efficiency or causing discomfort. Before first use, disassemble and wash all components that come into contact with the breast and breast milk, then sterilize them by submerging them in boiling water or using a steam/UV sterilizer.
