Classic diapers have side tapes that allow them to be fully opened and fastened. This is handy when you want to quickly change a wet diaper without taking off baby's pants and shoes.

Diaper pants, on the other hand, have a single, elastic, flexible waistband all around, and they are removed by simply tearing the sides of the diaper, without allowing them to be refastened. These are useful for building confidence during potty training, as they will allow your little one to use them like regular underwear and learn to use the potty without any help from parents. In addition, parents of very active children often opt for diaper pants from a younger age, as they can be simply and easily put on.
