Thames & Kosmos STEM Kit Marble Run Obstacle Course Expansion Plastic 8 years+

The Thames & Kosmos Trampoline STEM kit is an expansion for the marble run, designed to complement the Gecko Run starter set. Children watch how the marble bounces off the trampoline and try to position it so the marble flies as far as possible or is catapulted onto a higher track. It is a practical way to see the physics of projectile motion, elastic collisions, and trajectory in action.

The set contains over a dozen pieces that complement the Gecko Run starter set: additional marbles, nano-adhesive pads, 2 extra tracks, and much more. The tracks attach to smooth surfaces using smart nano-adhesive pads, which stick to smooth, vertical surfaces in the house, such as windows, mirrors, doors, walls, refrigerators, or cabinets.

The construction is mess-free: the pads are not adhesive-based and can be repositioned quickly and easily without leaving behind damage or sticky residue. The system is open-ended, meaning it can be positioned in infinite configurations on smooth surfaces, encouraging experimentation and the testing of new routes for the metal marble.

From an educational perspective, the kit develops engineering and problem-solving skills and exemplifies physics in action. The tracks are made from renewable raw materials, and the product is made of plastic. It was produced in Germany for Thames & Kosmos, England. The recommended age is 8 years and up.
