The Thames & Kosmos 100x STEM Telescope Kit is an award-winning science and experiment game that brings astronomy into your home. The refracting telescope uses high-quality optical glass lenses and offers 20x and 100x magnification, allowing for detailed observation of the Moon and its craters, as well as the planets Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter. Terrestrial observations on Earth are also possible, making it useful at any time of day.
The kit includes everything you need to start astronomical observations: a refracting telescope with optical glass lenses, a 400 mm focal length, a 40 mm objective lens, an aluminum tube, a dew shield, and a precision focus adjustment knob. It is also supplied with a Horizon viewfinder (5 x 18; 5x magnification with 18 mm aperture) and a built-in compass for quick orientation toward objects in the sky.
The package contains an aluminum tabletop tripod with altitude and alt-azimuth adjustment knobs, a 20 mm low-power eyepiece and a 4 mm high-power eyepiece, a diagonal mirror, and protective covers. The included instruction manual guides the setup and use of the telescope step-by-step, so the child can learn how each component works on their own.
The product is made of plastic, metal, and glass. It won the 2023 Toy Insider Top Summer Toy award. Adult supervision is recommended during play. Read the instructions before use, follow them, and keep them for reference. The product is manufactured in China for Thames & Kosmos, England.
