Thames & Kosmos Newton's Apple STEM Kit 8+ years motorized gyroscope plastic metal

The Thames & Kosmos Newton’s Apple STEM kit invites young engineers to build an apple-shaped robot that defies gravity and walks on a tightrope without falling. The robot's core component is a motorized gyroscope, which maintains its balance to perform this fun trick. Through five experiments, children discover the amazing powers of the motorized gyroscope and explore the physics behind its behavior.

The kit includes the parts needed to build the gyrobot and the experimental setups, including a track for the robot to walk on. Children can experiment with making it walk on the various included tracks and the string, investigate the gyroscope's center of gravity, and watch the gyroscope spin on a flat surface. Its unique and functional design makes it an accessible, fun, and educational gift with high play value.

By building the robot and performing experiments with the motorized gyroscope unit, young engineers learn about the science of gyroscopic devices and the indispensable role they play in our lives. A full-color illustrated experiment manual provides step-by-step assembly instructions and scientific explanations, suitable for children aged 8 and up.

The kit contains 75 pieces, 5 experiments, and an instruction manual. It is made of plastic and metal and requires 2 AAA batteries. Adult supervision is recommended during play, and it is advised to read the instructions before use. Produced in Taiwan for Thames & Kosmos, England.
