Thames & Kosmos Solar-Powered Vehicle STEM Building Kit 8+ years plastic and bamboo

The Thames & Kosmos solar-powered vehicle construction STEM kit shows how solar energy can be used in amazing ways. Children explore the capabilities of solar energy by building vehicles and devices powered directly by sunlight, and each model comes to life with electricity generated by the included solar panel. It is a hands-on introduction to science and experiments for technology and mechanics enthusiasts.

Using a system of ultra-light bamboo rods, plastic gears, and a powerful solar panel, you will build five different motorized models that move using electricity generated by the sun: three types of solar cars, a solar fan, and a solar robot. The ultra-light materials make the models fast, and the modular transmission system allows you to test three different gear ratios.

After assembly, you can perform scientific experiments with each model to learn about gear ratios, solar cells, and more. The set contains 54 pieces and a 16-page manual with instructions and information about solar energy, so the learning continues beyond construction. It is made of plastic and bamboo, and the total weight of the set is 0.45 kg.

Adult supervision is recommended while playing. Read the instructions before use, follow them, and keep them for reference. The product was manufactured in Taiwan for Thames & Kosmos, England, and is intended for children aged 8 and up.
