Thames & Kosmos STEM Kit Metal Ball Obstacle Course Expansion Loop 8+ years plastic

The Loop STEM kit is an extension for the Thames & Kosmos metal ball obstacle course. With the loop, you add even more speed, action, and experimental fun to your obstacle course. How much speed does the ball need to pass perfectly through the loop? Experiment and find out the answer yourself by adjusting the position of the pieces until the metal ball manages to complete the full loop.

The set contains over a dozen pieces that complement the Gecko Run starter set: additional balls, nano-adhesive pads, two extra tracks, and much more. The tracks attach to smooth surfaces using smart nano-adhesive pads that stick to smooth, vertical surfaces in the house, such as windows, mirrors, doors, walls, refrigerators, or cabinets. This way, your course can run vertically, not just on a table.

The pads are not adhesive-based and can be repositioned quickly and easily, without leaving behind damage or sticky residue. With an open-ended design, you can position the pieces in infinite configurations on smooth surfaces, which encourages you to test, fail, and rebuild. It is a practical way to understand how gravity, speed, and the trajectory of the metal ball work.

From an educational perspective, the kit develops engineering and problem-solving skills and exemplifies physics in action. The tracks are made from renewable raw materials, and the product is made of plastic. Keep the packaging and instructions, as they contain important information. The product is manufactured in Germany for Thames & Kosmos, England.
