The Joie Fortifi Thunder car seat is designed for children between 76 and 145 cm tall, covering a wide range from approximately 15 months to 12 years. The internal structure of the seat is made of steel.

In Forward Facing mode, the seat is used with the 5-point harness for children between 76 and 105 cm (from 15 months to approximately 3.5 years). In Booster mode, installed with the vehicle's seat belt facing forward, it covers the 100-145 cm range (approximately 3.5 - 12 years). The seat is secured using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.

Child comfort is supported by four quickly adjustable recline positions, soft padding, and high-quality materials. The Grow Together system with 9 positions for the headrest and harness adjusts with one hand, and the AutoAdjust side wings expand as the child grows and changes in height and weight. Tightening the 5-point harness is done with a simple pull motion.

Guard Surround safety panels engage automatically when the harness is tightened, and side-impact protection ensures the safety of the head, body, and hips. Harness Hideaway compartments store the 5-point harness when used in booster mode, and mesh side pockets provide space for essentials. The guidance system marks the seat belt path, and the Dual lock-off system ensures maximum seat stability. The protective cover is easy to wash and clean.
