Learning Resources Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog, Pink, plastic, for fine motor skill development, 18 months+

Learning Resources now brings Spike the hedgehog in pink as well, a new version of the original award-winning multicolored model, which is purchased separately. This dexterity game helps toddlers develop essential fine motor skills by handling chunky, quill-shaped pieces that fit into the back of this friendly hedgehog.

The game is also useful for occupational therapy exercises. The colorful quills help children develop color recognition, sorting, and counting skills through activities dedicated to fine motor skills. Each movement of fitting a quill requires concentration and eye-hand coordination, and the visible result encourages the child to continue.

A thoughtfully designed aspect is the texture of the quills, which makes Spike accessible to children with visual impairments as well. The raised surface provides clear tactile cues, so the game can be explored through touch, not just visually. Thus, the set is suitable for a wide range of children and play situations.

After finishing the game, each plastic quill can be easily wiped clean and stored inside Spike, ready for the next use. The hedgehog measures 15 cm in diameter, and the set includes a 2-piece hedgehog, 12 quills, and an activity guide. The packaging dimensions are 20.1 x 18 x 9.7 cm, and the recommended age is 18 months and up, making it suitable for little ones just beginning to explore dexterity games.
