Learning Resources Giant Geometric Solids, 10 clear plastic pieces, 8+ years, for the classroom

Learning Resources Giant Geometric Solids is a set of 10 transparent 3D geometric shapes, designed as a hands-on way to explore geometry, volume, and other measurement concepts. Each shape is made of clear plastic, so children can clearly see the contents inside and observe how materials behave when poured into the respective shapes.

The set includes ten distinct shapes: cone, sphere, hemisphere, cube, cylinder, rectangular prism, hexagonal prism, triangular prism, square pyramid, and triangular pyramid. This variety allows children to directly compare different shapes, group them, and name them, supporting the learning of geometric vocabulary in an interactive and engaging way.

Filling each geometric shape with water, sand, or rice allows children to estimate and measure the amount of material used, thus developing measurement and volume comparison skills. Pouring materials from one shape to another helps children understand the notion of capacity and make predictions that they can then practically verify, while having fun at the same time.

As an engaging and interactive educational resource, the set offers a fun way for children to learn about geometry and mathematics, stimulating their curiosity and creativity. It is suitable for the classroom, where it can be used in group activities, as well as at home. The recommended age is 8 years and up.
