The BIBS Couture Latex Ivory pacifier is made of latex, a material obtained from the fluid of the rubber tree (hevea). This fluid is refined to create latex, an elastic and soft material with a texture similar to a mother's breast. The nipple of the pacifier is designed with a valve that allows air to escape when the baby closes their mouth and takes on the natural shape of the baby's oral cavity.

The nipple is made of 100% natural latex, and the flexible shield around the nipple has a slightly concave shape to minimize contact points with the baby's skin. The shield is made of 100% PP and designed with multiple holes that allow air circulation. This construction supports the baby's comfort and daily hygiene of the pacifier, indicated for ages 6 months and up.

Good pacifier hygiene requires frequent cleaning. The younger the baby, the more important it is to protect the pacifier from bacteria and maintain good hygiene. Before first use, the pacifier must be sterilized. Latex is a natural material that can break at temperatures above 100°C; therefore, latex pacifiers MUST NOT be sterilized in the microwave, steam sterilizer, UV sterilizer, or in a sterilization solution.

Sterilization involves three simple steps: place the pacifier in a clean bowl, pour hot water over the pacifier and let it sit for 5 minutes, then remove the pacifier onto a clean towel and let it dry. If water has entered the inside of the nipple through its valve, use the towel to press the nipple until the water is removed. Pacifiers should be replaced after 4-6 weeks of use.
