BIBS Colour Latex Pacifier, round nipple, 6 months+, Dusty Blue, made of 100% natural latex
The BIBS Colour Latex Dusty Blue pacifier is made of latex, a material obtained from the fluid of the rubber tree (hevea). This fluid is refined to create latex, an elastic and soft material with a texture similar to a mother's breast. The round nipple mimics the natural shape of the baby's oral cavity and is designed with a valve that allows air to escape when the baby closes their mouth.
The nipple is made of 100% natural latex, and the flexible shield around the nipple has a slightly concave shape to minimize contact points with the baby's skin. The shield is made of PP and is designed with 3 holes that allow for air circulation. The pacifier is suitable for ages 6 months and up, specifically the 6-18 month interval indicated by the manufacturer.
Maintaining pacifier hygiene requires frequent cleaning. The younger the baby, the more important it is to protect the pacifier from bacteria and keep it properly hygienic. Before the first use, the pacifier must be sterilized. Because latex is a natural material that can break down at temperatures above 100 degrees C, latex pacifiers MUST NOT be sterilized in a microwave, steam sterilizer, UV sterilizer, or sterilizing solution.
Sterilization involves 3 simple steps: place the pacifier in a clean bowl, pour boiling water over it and leave it for 5 minutes, then remove it onto a clean paper towel and let it dry. If water has entered the inside of the nipple through the valve, press the nipple with the paper towel until the water is expelled. The manufacturer recommends replacing pacifiers after 4-6 weeks of use.
