BIBS Colour Latex pacifier with a round natural latex nipple and PP shield, 18 months+
The BIBS Colour pacifier has a nipple made of natural latex, a material derived from the sap of the rubber tree (hevea). The sap is refined to obtain latex, a soft and elastic material with a texture similar to a mother's breast.
The nipple is designed with a valve that allows air to escape when the baby closes their mouth, and it takes the natural shape of the oral cavity. The flexible shield around the nipple has a slightly concave shape to reduce contact points with the baby's skin. The shield is made of PP and features 3 holes to allow for air circulation.
Latex is a natural material that can break down at temperatures above 100 degrees C. For this reason, latex pacifiers should not be sterilized in a microwave, steam sterilizer, UV sterilizer, or sterilizing solution. Sterilization involves three steps: place the pacifier in a clean bowl, pour boiling water over it and let it sit for 5 minutes, then remove it onto a clean paper towel and let it air dry. If water has entered the nipple through the valve, squeeze the nipple with the paper towel until the water is expelled. Pacifiers should be replaced after 4-6 weeks of use.
